Objets d’Art : their completion

vince_bronze1Four years of planning and hard work has resulted in an astonishing set of eight bells with a difference – they are not simply musical instruments but objets d’art. Not only being exceptional in their tunes, Vince Caruana’s designs that include the eight frontal beatitudes and complimenting wreaths, have given these bells another dimension. The low reliefs of the designs were carried out to perfection. A delegation led by Archpriest Fr. Frank Bajada visited the Cornille-Havard foundry (Normandy) from the 12th to the 15th of July. The reception means that the bells are to the satisfaction of the parish. Assisted by the expert advice of Joseph Chetcuti: a master bronze caster, Maestro John Galea: the musical director of the project, and Vince Caruana for the artistic decorations, the Archpriest marked each bell with a cross as a sign of acceptance in the evening of 14th July. The project will be inaugurated on Sunday 14th August in the morning on the parvis of Our Lady of Loreto Church in Ghajnsielem. The most read Francophone newspaper in the world, Ouest-France has also reported this historical event in its 14th July paper.
